Barn Swallows
The sun flashes orange
on the bellies of swallows,
dear little things that
fill everywhere they are.
I’m grateful they chose here
to birth their next generation,
when they’re free to be anywhere
singing life like the sun.

Summer Winds
It’s winter
and I am dormant like a seed.
My soul
knows no joy,
locked and frozen in winter’s embrace.
But suddenly
spring comes!
I start to remember who I am,
stirring
towards the promise of warmth to come and
before long,
the ecstacy of summer winds fills me!
Peepers peep,
bats dance in a wild frenzy of joy,
and green grows!
I melt and become one with them;
surely winter is no more
and will never come again.

forest awakens

forest awakens
Silvered plum petals
are unfurling beneath trees;
forest awakens
The Plant Lady
Trillium Grove Farm is where I am living my gardening dream and my personal ideals of working with nature and respecting the earth. This blog captures my garden and landscaping projects: I am interested in establishing woodland gardens, cultivating organic vegetables, planting trees of all sorts, and I have a weakness for native plants, lavender and lillies. I favour planting with diversity and then letting nature find the right balance rather than interfering with chemicals and monoculture. …I even plant extra for the critters.
